Technology
We use state-of-the-art technologies in the delivery of our prosthodontic dental care to insure that our patients receive the highest quality treatment in the most efficient manner.
Diagnostic Extra- and Intra-oral Photographs — The use of digital photography allows for a more complete diagnostic procedure and treatment plan. It also allows the patient to view and better understand the proposed treatment.
Digital Radiography — The use of digital x-rays reduces the amount of radiation delivered to the patient by over 80% when compared to conventional dental x-rays. Dr. Gordner and the patient can immediately view the x-rays on a computer monitor in the dental operatory and discuss the patient issues. There is no need to wait for the films to develop and the x-rays can be immediately copied and emailed to another dental office coordinating treatment.
Digital Panorex — A single x-ray which shows the entire upper and lower jaw and significant nearby structures for a complete and thorough dental examination.
Digital Impressions — The use of an intra-oral scanner avoids the normal impression material which is uncomfortable for many patients and allows for the immediate transfer of the collected data.
Computer Assisted Implant Treatment Planning — Utilization of computer software and 3-D radiography allows Dr. Gordner to virtually plan the placement, position, inclination, and size of the dental implant prior to the actual implant surgery. It is also is used to determine if the ideal implant site may require possible bone and/or soft tissue grafting procedures to attain the optimal functional and esthetic results. The virtual treatment plan of the implant surgery can also be transferred directly to the actual surgery through the use of stents, providing a seamless transition between the proposed treatment and the actual end results.
Computer Assisted Esthetic Treatment Planning — The use of computer software to virtually evaluate and illustrate the desired esthetic treatment. The software can also recommend and illustrate the shade, shape, and size of teeth based upon the patient’s facial form.
CAD CAM Technology — A virtual finished representation of the final restoration, supporting coping, or implant abutment is created in the laboratory. Dr. Gordner can review the virtual image and make modifications to insure the optimal results prior to the milling and fabrication process. Once the design is approved, it is fabricated via computer technology to the approved specifications.
ZOOM Bleaching — The use of the ZOOM bleaching light allows for in-office bleaching of teeth and accomplishes in just one hour.
